It has been a while since we've had peaches, as we had a few bad years with the harvest, and this year, which had all the right conditions for a bumper crop, our trees were attacked by Japanese beetles.
However, there is nothing like the taste of a tree-ripened peach, despite any imperfections.
This is especially true when you cut out the bad parts and top it all off with whipped cream.
When I came in to serve Bow the dessert cup, he noticed that there was some whipped cream spilling over the edge of the cup, and so he took the time to lick it off, and to lick a part of my hand that was also covered in whipped cream. Only then would he relax and take his dessert to enjoy on his own. Bow is a stickler for details I do not notice!
Bow enjoyed every last bite and lick of this treat. And when he was done, he handed back the empty cup and spoon.
HA! A very fastidious eater indeed! With all this hot weather, peaches and cream sounds like a wonderful treat!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kathy. Yes, he is a stickler for details. And it's such a wonderful treat that we are having more of it today! Bow sent me to the front yard to pick more peaches this morning. I had only to shake the branch, and they fell to the ground.
DeleteI think it is cool to see Bow eating the peaches with cream. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julia. He really loves peaches and cream.
